Unbound incoming We're looking forward to opening two new shows in the week ahead. Bronwen Grieves' ceramics (pictured above) feature in Unbound. Inspired by mid-century objects and her love of gardening, Bronwen's sculptural forms toe the line between organic and inorganic, using grogged stoneware and sparingly applied coloured slip to highlight the texture of the clay body beneath. Her work sits alongside striking paintings by Christina Fedyk (pictured below), ceramics by Sylvia Kamodyová, and textiles by Lesley Bisseker. Unbound opens on 3rd June in arch two. Join us for a glass of wine and a preview 6-8pm. |

Changing Horizons Also opening this week is Changing Horizons: an exhibition of new prints by Janet Brooke, who offers new perspectives on our familiar city landscapes. Her most recent pieces are the results of daily walks along the undercliff path, contemplations of the ever changing nature of the sea and its relation to the equally changing skies but with the added human elements of traditional seaside architecture, including that newest addition to the landscape: the wind turbines hovering mysteriously on the horizon. Here's a sneak peek. Changing Horizons opens in arch one on 1st June and continues until our Atelier OPEN in July. |

Summer classes for creative kids Fire the kids' imagination this summer and sign them up to our Cyantotypes for 12-17 year olds course on Monday 7th August. Run by Torz Dallison down here on Brighton Beach, they will learn the art and science of making images with the rays of the sun. A brilliant way to spend the afternoon and the start of a whole world of possibilities. Places are limited, so sign the kids up now. |
