A few moments ago, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant declared, "Hamas is on the verge of dissolution, the IDF is taking over its last strongholds." Hearing this announcement during Chanukah, a festival symbolizing light and hope, brings a sense of promise and optimism for a future of peace and security. However, the reality on the ground is still very troubling. The IDF's invasion of Gaza has led to 559 soldiers wounded since its inception, and tragically, we've lost an additional 7 soldiers earlier today. The IDF is currently in the second stage of the operation, necessitating the continued service of reservists. In addition, Hezbollah has warned of a 'new escalation' in response to intensified Israeli actions. Earlier today, at least six rockets were fired from Lebanon towards northern Israel, with the IDF responding with artillery fire along the Lebanese border. In light of these developments, the role of Zaka Tel-Aviv is ever more crucial. Our volunteers are on high alert, providing essential services and support to those affected by the ongoing conflict. We are committed to offering aid, comfort, and preparedness training to ensure the safety and resilience of our communities. |
