| Hello. President Donald Trump said the US could “take over” Gaza and resettle Palestinians as he met with Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. State Department correspondent Tom Bateman explains why the proposals represent "the most radical upending" in US policy on the Middle East. We're also monitoring news from Belgium, where police are hunting gunmen seen entering a metro station in Brussels. And from Iraq, take a look at the Mosul landmarks rebuilt after they were destroyed during the Islamic State group's occupation. | |

TOP OF THE AGENDA | Trump's plans for Palestinians after war |
|
| | Trump also signed an executive order extending a halt to funding for the Palestinian refugee agency, Unrwa. Credit: Reuters | President Donald Trump made several comments about the future of Palestinian people and Gaza at a White House conference with Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday. These included the US taking over the territory and turning it into "the Riviera of the Middle East", with other countries financing the rebuilding and taking in displaced Palestinians. The proposals, writes correspondent Tom Bateman, will be seen as flying in the face of international law and will be categorically rejected by Palestinians and the Arab world as an expulsion plan. Netanyahu praised Trump for his ability to "think outside the box" and called him "the greatest friend Israel has ever had in the White House". |

Hunt for gunmen in Brussels underground |
|
| Belgian police are looking for armed men after a shooting was reported outside a metro station in the centre of Brussels. CCTV footage shows at least two men wearing balaclavas and carrying what appeared to be Kalashnikov weapons. A spokeswoman for Brussels police said the suspects fled into the metro station and may still be in the metro tunnels. |

BEYOND THE HEADLINES | Mosul rebuilds landmarks destroyed by IS |
|
| | | The famous leaning al-Hadba minaret was destroyed in the battle to liberate Mosul in 2017. Credit: Reuters | The extremist Islamic State (IS) group occupied the Iraqi city of Mosul between 2014 and 2017. In that time, many historic buildings were damaged or destroyed. The huge task of rebuilding, organised and funded by Unesco, began in 2018 - and it's now completed, with a ceremony on Wednesday marking the reopening of churches, mosques, and other landmarks. |

And finally... | The image of a badger appearing to admire an artwork by graffiti artist Banksy has won a top photography award. Which artwork exactly, I hear you ask? It is, of course, Banksy's depiction of a badger holding up guns in its paws. Take a look at that photo and other stunning images of the London's Natural History Museum's 2024 Wildlife Photographer of the Year People’s Choice competition. | |
