Cantor Fitzgerald SPAC to close $4B bitcoin deal with Adam Back

Brandon Lutnick, the son of Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, is nearing a $4 billion SPAC deal with one of the earliest bitcoin supporter and founder of Blockstream, Adam Back. The deal would involve Back contributing ~30,000 bitcoin (worth more than $3 billion) to the company, which would then raise up to $800 million in outside capital. The SPAC, Cantor Equity Partners 1 $CEPO ( 0.0% ) , would be renamed to BSTR Holding. This deal would be the second in the last few months from Lutnick after the $3.6 billion Softbank/Tether treasury vehicle. Read more →

Whether insiders will sell is anybody’s guess as a previous 40 million unlock resulted in no sales. Shares of the ether treasury company Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) popped ~22% in pre-market hours after tech billionaire Peter Thiel disclosed a 9% stake in the firm through his VC firm Founders Fund.
