| President Trump on Friday will announce new sanctions targeting trade and shipping companies in North Korea, the latest move in the U.S. effort to pressure its leader Kim Jong Un into giving up his nuclear weapons program. "The Treasury Department will soon be taking new action to further cut off sources of revenue and fuel that the regime uses to fund its nuclear program and sustain its military by targeting 56 vessels, shipping companies, and trade businesses that are assisting North Korea in evading sanctions," Trump plans to say in a speech to supporters at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference near Washington, according to excerpts released by the White House. The new penalties come as Trump's daughter and adviser Ivanka led a U.S. delegation to South Korea for the final weekend of the 2018 Winter Olympics.
