The Advocate's Top Headlines

with Jennifer Wadsworth | Assistant metro editor

It's been another big news day, and our reporters have it all covered.

Let's take a look at some of their latest stories …

New details in case against FBI agent

An FBI agent who investigated crimes against children stands accused of committing the very crimes he was once tasked to investigate. Now, recently filed court records have unearthed new details about the case against David Harris. Lea Skene brings us the latest.

Vax mandates

As Louisiana trudges through what one health official called "the darkest days of the pandemic," local hospitals began enacting COVID vaccine mandates — some more strict than others.

At Our Lady of the Lake, everyone's required to get the shot, from staff to contractors and volunteers.

Baton Rouge General, for its part, carved out a pretty massive exemption.

Reporter Paul Cobler tells us all about it.

'A wake-up call'

After coming down with COVID despite being vaccinated, Ascension Parish President Clint Cointment said he hopes his diagnosis will be "a wake-up call that encourages everyone to get vaccinated, as this can lessen the severity of symptoms." David Mitchell has the story.

What a house!

Designer Kenneth Brown is the one who put the style in Kim Mulkey's new $1.6 million home in Baton Rouge. Brown told us he really flexed his design muscle to "do things we should be doing in our homes but are not doing yet." Check out grace and charm of the LSU women’s basketball coach’s new digs here.

The sno-ball effect

Not all sno-balls are created equal. We tasted summer's most ubiquitous treat at several local stands and have the lowdown on where to go. Check out who's serving what here.

Thanks for reading, and have a great morning!
