Good afternoon on a rainy Monday,

Spring may be on the way but winter is not letting its grip go just yet..

There is lots going on today if you can tear yourself away from that interview.

It's been a newsy weekend locally and today is a significant one as children start to go back to school, albeit in a phased manner, coinciding with the Government announcement they will be calling up those in the 56-59 year-old age group from today.

NHS staff have now vaccinated more than 560,000 people across Lancashire and South Cumbria, meaning more than one-third of the adult population have already received the life-saving jab

Over the weekend we reported the tragic news a teenage footballer was electrocuted while attempting to fetch a ball. Two other teenagers were also injured in the incident at Euxton Villa FC's ground.

Once more, police were forced to break up a  rave near a Lancashire beauty spot and Covid wardens patrolled a busy city park.

Meanwhile, one of Preston’s last D-Day veterans was laid to rest in a ceremony befitting a war hero.

Have a safe Monday
