Driving the transition to electric cars

With more than one billion vehicles on the road, traffic is a major contributor to global warming. The transport sector accounts for one-fifth of all emissions, almost half of which comes from passenger cars. Indeed, cars account for four times as many greenhouse gases as aviation did before the pandemic. So, electrifying the car industry is an obvious solution. And that's where investors have a role to play: to accelerate the process.

Better planet, better portfolio

Robeco promotes electric cars in two ways. Firstly, we invest directly in the companies making electric cars and the components needed for them, such as battery technology. Secondly, we engage with the auto industry to accelerate the electrification of their fleets. It's a challenge, but one we relish as part of active ownership. Because it helps the planet, and your portfolio.
