In a tragic turn of events, we are mourning the loss of 21 brave IDF soldiers who were killed in the southern Gaza Strip this morning. This devastating incident occurred when two buildings collapsed following a large explosion, believed to be triggered by an RPG attack. This brings the toll of our fallen heroes in the ground offensive against Hamas to 219. The IDF is now investigating the details. The soldiers were part of an operation to secure and booby-trap buildings near the Gaza border. During this high-risk mission, a terrorist emerged from a tunnel, launching an RPG at a tank assigned to protect the engineers. This attack resulted in immediate casualties. Simultaneously, an anti-tank missile struck two buildings, causing them to collapse and tragically claiming the lives of more soldiers.
