Town centre transformation planned, pub plans for outdoor terrace refused, notorious pub and restaurant demolished and urgent repairs approved for Freddie Flintoff's first 'field of dreams'

There have been plenty of plans proposed and rejected as well as changes in Lancashire over the last week.

A stunning village pub has been refused permission to build an outdoor terrace after neighbours objected.

Owners of the establishment wanted to increase the size of the venue's outside seating area to take advantage of spectacular views.

Chorley Council has finalised the pitch that it intends to make in the hope of securing £20m from a nationwide pot, which if successful could see the borough benefit from plush new public space, a hotel, community hub and town centre housing.

We have also said goodbye to a notorious former pub and Chinese restaurant in Preston after the building was deemed unsafe. We were there as demolition work started.

Finally, the owners of historic Harris Park in Preston have been given the go-ahead to carry out urgent repairs on all its listed buildings to prevent them falling into further disrepair.
