🌬️ In the wake of Tuesday’s cool front, temperatures will be cooler across the state Wednesday and Thursday. Highs will range from the low 70s south to the 60s north with cooler readings near Lake Superior.

😎 We’re back in summerlike warmth this weekend with highs returning to the low 80s in central and southern Minnesota Friday. We could be in for a May heat wave with temperatures of 80 degrees or higher starting Sunday through next week.

As bill to toughen DWI punishment nears passage, case that led to the bill nears closure

The man charged with killing two people and injuring many more on a St. Louis Park patio last year is expected to enter a guilty plea Wednesday morning in Hennepin County District Court as part of a plea deal.

🌿 Date set for lottery to determine Minnesota cannabis business licenses. The Minnesota Office of Cannabis Management has announced the date for the first lottery to decide who will get cannabis business licenses from the state.

🕯️14-year-old dies in shooting in downtown Minneapolis.  A 14-year-old boy died in a shooting Monday night in downtown Minneapolis. Police said it appears that “a physical altercation among teenage boys escalated, ending when one of the teens fired a gun.”

⚖️ Charges: Minneapolis woman intentionally struck pedestrians, killing one. A Minneapolis driver faces charges including second-degree murder after  allegedly intentionally running down pedestrians in two crosswalks a half-mile apart. One person was killed and three others were injured.

🎓 On judge's order, DHS releases jailed MSU Mankato international student. A Minnesota State University Mankato international student is out of jail on bond after a federal judge ordered authorities to release him more than a month after he was arrested.

📉 Despite recent homicides, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey says city is becoming safer. Despite recent high-profile killings in Minneapolis, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey tried to make the case that the city of Minneapolis is making progress in addressing problems.

🏀 Warriors take Game 1 from cold-shooting Wolves 99-88 despite Curry’s departure with hamstring strain. The Timberwolves went cold for Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals on Tuesday leading to the Warriors clinching a 99-88 win. Game 2 is Thursday at Target Center in Minneapolis.

👨🏻‍🚒 Wildfires burn thousands of acres on tribal lands in North Dakota. Crews have been fighting at least 16 wildfires throughout North Dakota in the last several days, including several large fires still burning Tuesday across wooded areas and grasslands on the Turtle Mountain Reservation near the Canadian border.
