Maeikisala and I just returned from seeing Amma the hugging saint. Seeing her in person for the second time was a different kind of wonderful.
Last year, at her four-day retreat in faraway Toronto, we only ran into one person we knew. This time we saw her much closer to home, in Atlanta, and enjoyed connecting with lots of our spiritual friends from Asheville. Seeing Amma with so many kindred spirits made the occasion even sweeter!
It was much easier to merge with the event's spiritual energy this time. I had to expend a surprising amount of effort to stay on my feet and physically functional during my volunteer shift as a greeter, due to the powerful bliss field saturating the large event hall.
I also received my most powerful hug ever from Amma, on the second and final night of the event. Powerful waves of energy coursed through my brain for about an hour afterward. I don't know what kind of upgrade Amma kicked off, but I'm excited to find out as it unfolds!
Maeikisala and I believe that Amma is a spiritual avatar – a pure manifestation of the divine in human form. It's a profound honor to be in Amma's physical presence and receive her blessing.
