During his tenure at the helm of Airbus, Tom Enders was a vocal advocate for close transatlantic relations. As he accepted the Wings Club Foundation’s Distinguished Achievement Award in New York on Oct. 18, Enders warned that trade and political tensions now threaten to crack up the vaunted Western alliance. Excerpts from his address follow.
