I had planned to send out a newsletter this weekend showcasing all the new styles we just launched for you to customize—new colors and lightweight cotton sweaters that you’ve been asking for, for months. And you should definitely check them out. But once again, the news got in the way. Yesterday, after the beyond embarrassing behavior of our elected officials in the Oval Office, I posted the above sweatshirt on Instagram with this caption: Democracy is a fragile thing. We should be the ones thanking Zelensky for his incredible courage and leadership in standing up to one of history’s most evil and corrupt dictators. It’s both disgusting and deeply depressing that Trump and Vance have put us in a position where everything we have fought for since our beginnings is being thrown out the window—not to mention how utterly embarrassing their behavior is. The world feels upside down. History is watching. And we, the people, must get loud. We stand with Ukraine. We stand against the corrupt forces that threaten it. America has always been a beacon of freedom and democracy, an ally to those who share these values. The world used to count on us to never side with corrupt dictators like Putin. Today, that world order feels shattered. Our hearts are heavy, but our hope is strong. People, it’s time to do your thing. This is not who we are. This is not okay. This morning, I woke up with those same feelings—only deeper. It’s hard to process the reality that my country is no longer the leader of the free world. Like you, I’m still trying to make sense of these events in real-time, and I’m sure there will be much more to say on this soon. For now, if you want to channel that energy into something tangible, you can shop these sweatshirts—proceeds will support NOVA's efforts in Ukraine—or explore any of the new styles below to show up in your own communities and let people know where you stand. Do NOT underestimate the power we hold as a collective. My thoughts are with the Ukrainian people—and with all the good people in this country and around the world who still believe in democracy. xo Rachelle |
