| Hi Do, Here are Todd’s latest fun picks to take your financial skills to the next level... The pace of "epochal change" is accelerating. Did you notice the bond market's recent downward acceleration? Not good. Bonds and stocks have been correlating to the downside this year reducing the diversification benefit. Don't allow what's happening to blindside your financial plans (see the two resources in big, bold text linked below my signature line in this email for solutions). It's all manageable with the right knowledge and resources. You just have to know what to do, and to understand how the current playbook contrasts with prior decades. That's what I'm trying to help you with in these newsletters. I first warned that "epochal change" had started inside my Expectancy Wealth Planning community April 2020 after the fiscal stimulus was announced. The Fed crossed the Rubicon to a point of no return with that policy change. History will show that trillions of dollars in fiscal stimulus ultimately served as the required catalyst (with appropriate time lag) to end the prior era. Simply, they pushed it all too far, and the subsequent reactions in finance, politics, and world economy are now forcing the changes we're seeing. But my epochal change call extends far beyond just Fed policy. Despite popular media portrayal that the Fed is the all-powerful wizard behind economic machinations, the truth is they're closer to the Wizard of Oz. They swing a big bat so their influence must be respected, but they follow rather than lead. The Fed is actually responding to another epochal change concept shared in my Expectancy Wealth Planning community called "Extreme Point Analysis." Unfortunately, I don't have any resources to link that information here because I haven't seen it taught anywhere outside my course community. If I can find something good, then I'll make sure to share it with you. However, today I have an excellent resource that brilliantly teaches another key puzzle piece of epochal change - the headlong rush to end U.S. dollar hegemony. It's a mind-bending, perspective-changer because the behind-the-scenes machinations are way more predictable and understandable than the popular media portrays. After you listen to this resource, you'll realize how epochal change has been slowly unfolding in front of your eyes if you just have the right glasses to interpret what you're observing. As always, I hope you get great value from these resources... If you only have time for one resource this week, this is it. Most of Grant Williams' work is now behind a paywall. However, Grant felt this episode was so important, timely, and relevant that he made it publicly available for all to benefit. The information shared will fundamentally change your worldview on current events and where all of this is headed. Yeah, it's that big of a deal. It brilliantly explains one leg of my "epochal change" call. This is a video excerpting David Foster Wallace's commencement speech for Kenyon College, May 21, 2005. It's pure wisdom and perspective. The assumption is that I'm hitting you pretty hard with the Grant Williams podcast episode above, so I wanted to balance the serious finance with other resources that bring a human perspective and hopefully some emotional balance. Read this article to the end. Wow! It's rare that a single article gives me such a powerful, unforgettable insight. Again, it's the second of two resources to help maintain perspective in these challenging times. Focus your time on the Grant Williams podcast above to wrap your ahead around one puzzle piece in epochal change and defend your portfolio, and then read this article to re-ground yourself on what's really important. Onward and upward! Todd Tresidder |
