Tesla Powerwall is the best solar, home backup, and EV charging companion | Solar power, and having solar panels on your home, is a fantastic way to conserve energy and cut down on power bills. There’s just one glaring issue. When the grid goes down you still lose power because of how it’s connected. Essentially, your power setup doesn’t offer much benefit there, unless you get a home power backup system. More specifically, something like a Tesla Powerwall is a compact home battery that stores energy generated from the grid. That energy is then used as a backup when traditional grid power is unavailable ...

T-Mobile and SpaceX get nod to extend coverage to 'dead zones' | It's the first partnership to receive FCC approval for such a service, though others have pending applications for review | T-Mobile and SpaceX’s Starlink unit has been approved a license by the FCC to provide supplemental direct-to-phone coverage from space in a move that will extend internet access to remote areas, eliminating so-called “dead zones,” Reuters reported. The FCC's decision marks the first time for a satellite operator to be allowed to work with a wireless carrier using spectrum bands originally intended for ground-based networks. T-Mobile revealed earlier this year that more than 500,000 square miles (1.3 million square kilometers) of the U.S. are unreachable by towers due to factors such as terrain and land-use restrictions. SpaceX said it will launch an employee beta service in the U.S. "soon" ...

B&O's Beoplay Eleven earbuds cost a hefty $499. The Natural Aluminum color is available now, while the Copper Tone launches on December 17 ...

Image: Giovanni Colantonio / Digital Trends | Forget the PS5 Pro. The Atari 7800+ is this holiday’s hottest console | ‘Nobody is making game consoles like Atari in 2024’
| Digital Trends’ senior gaming editor Giovanni Colantonio is mightily impressed with Atari’s latest retro recreation, the Atari 7800+, which gives players a fully functional but carefully modernized replica of its third home console. “Like the 2600+, it’s a nostalgic treat that captures the exact look, feel, and functionality of its 1986 counterpart,” Giovanni says, describing the console as “the ultimate retro gaming machine for Atari history buffs.” New games and re-releases are available, but a lovely touch is the backward compatibility that lets you plug in and play original 7800 cartridges. Even better, it can handle 2600+ and 2600 cartridges, too. The Atari 7800+ can be preordered for $130 ... | |
