If you have one of these doorbells, you need to update it now to avoid snoops

Vulnerabilities with the smart devices could allow someone to monitor household members

Consumer Reports is alerting homeowners to install an important firmware update if they’re using a video doorbell made by Eken, Fishbot, Rakeblue, Tuck, or any of several other brands that use similar hardware and the Aiwit smartphone app.

The equipment is produced by Eken Group, and the firmware update is one of several measures the company has taken to address flaws discovered by Consumer Reports, the most serious of which could allow someone to monitor the feed captured by the doorbell camera.

The issue is deemed so serious that the publication has labeled the Eken Smart Video Doorbell and Tuck Sharkpop Doorbell Camera with “Don’t Buy: Safety Risk” stickers in its video doorbell ratings ...

There's a 'strong possibility' of next iPad Pro getting Apple's new M4 chip

Speculation was that it would get the M3 chip, but this now seems unlikely

The refreshed iPad Pro that’s expected to be unveiled during a special online event on May 7 looks set to come with Apple’s M4 chip, prominent Apple tipster Mark Gurman claimed in the latest edition of his Power On newsletter, which he shared on Sunday.

The news comes as a big surprise as nearly everyone had been expecting a routine upgrade to Apple’s current silicon, the M3, from the existing Pro's M2 chip.

If Gurman is proved right, the new iPad Pro will be the first Apple device to get the more powerful M4 chip, beating the company’s line of laptops and desktops, which are expected to drop later this year with Apple’s latest silicon inside ...

Steven Soderbergh's latest movie was shot entirely on a Sony A9 III camera

It's not the first time that the moviemaker has made an unexpected gear choice, having already shot two films using an iPhone

Acclaimed Hollywood director Steven Soderbergh picked up the recently released Sony A9 III to shoot the whole of his latest movie, Presence.

The ghost horror flick stars Lucy Liu, Julia Fox, and Chris Sullivan, and was filmed in a suburban house in the space of three weeks, Digital Camera World reported. “The fascinating part of the movie is that it is filmed from the ghost's perspective, watching on as the family struggles to deal with ongoing life events,” the publication said. “The camera, and in turn the viewer, act as a character in the movie watching voyeuristically as the drama unfolds.”

It’s also reported that the entire movie was shot with a Sony 14mm lens and a gimbal ...

Challengers nets an ace as it tops the weekend box office take

The movie's theatrical release will raise its profile, likely ensuring even greater success when it debuts on Amazon Prime Video

Challengers, described by Variety as “a sexy, subversive, R-rated drama set in the world of tennis,” won the weekend box office in North America, raking in $15 million from 3,477 locations.

The news site described it as “a respectable result for an artsy movie aimed at discerning, adult audiences,” but added that the Amazon MGM Studios production “will need strong word-of-mouth if it’s going to keep rallying,” especially as next week sees the release of Universal’s The Fall Guy, an action-comedy starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt.

Unsung Hero, a drama about the formation of the popular Christian rock duo For King & Country, took the second spot with $7.7 million from 2,832 North American locations ...

Here's the first look at the Delta retro game emulator coming to the iPad

Delta arrived for Apple devices just recently, after the tech giant changed its App Store guidelines to finally allow game emulators

Riley Testut’s Delta game emulator has been widely praised since it landed on the iPhone earlier this month. The developer has now offered a peek at Delta’s expansion to the iPad, which will bring many retro game systems to a larger display, 9to5Mac reported.

Testut shared a short video on Threads and also offered some details about the upcoming offering for the iPad. He described it as “near completion” and said his team “just needs to finish up controller skins and fix some last bugs.”

He also responded to requests for a device-to-device multiplayer mode, saying that he wants it “as badly as y’all do,” but adding that it’s “going to take some time to implement everything” ...
