One tool to keep your online activity PRIVATE and opt out of intrusive cookies

It's no secret that you're being watched and tracked as you browse the internet. Companies want to know what you're doing so they can hit you with targeted ads. They do this using third-party cookies, which can track your activity across multiple websites. But, how do you know who is tracking you? Luckily there's a free tool that can help.

Need to hire someone

Q:

I need to hire someone, but I can barely manage all the resumes I get when I post a job online. I stick to the free sites to save cash, but I'm feeling like that's the wrong move. Any advice?

A:

You can attract a lot of candidates on those sites, but as you've found, you won't necessarily get the right ones. It's a ton of work sorting through all of that! You might not even find anyone who fits the job.

When I'm hiring, I use LinkedIn Jobs. It can help by matching your role with qualified candidates so you can find the right person quickly. LinkedIn screens for skills and you can use a ton of different tools to narrow down your search. That means so much less work on your end.

You can pay what you want, and you can use my special link to post your first job free.

Finding reliable pros

Q:

What's a safe way to find someone to work on a project at my house? I heard you mention an app you like. I don't want to waste money on bad work.

A:

You've come to the right place. Spotting scams is harder than ever, and you can't trust Google results or many of the apps and sites out there that list home pros.

I've been using Angi, a sponsor of my national radio show, and I can't get over how easy it is to find the right person for any projects. You can search through thousands of qualified pros right there in the app and read through real reviews left by real users. I used it to find a new landscaper, and I couldn't be happier.

To try it yourself, download the Angi app.

Download for Apple iOS here.

Antivirus vs. VPN

Q:

What is the difference between virus protection and a VPN? Do you need both for total protection or only one?

A:

Good question! While antivirus software protects you from online threats, a VPN hides your IP address and protects your privacy. Both are important, and they do very different things. My recommendation is to use both. It's worth it if you care about security and privacy.

For antivirus and online protection, check out TotalAV. It protects you from all the latest threats. Get an annual plan of TotalAV Internet Security for only $19 at ProtectWithKim.com. That's over 85% off!

My VPN of choice is ExpressVPN. Get 3 months free when you sign up for a year at ExpressVPN.com/Kim.
