LOS ANGELES:As the Super Bowl approaches, national nonprofit In Our Backyard is aiming to raise awareness of human trafficking issues surrounding the event. On Jan. 29, the group is partnering with local anti-trafficking organizations Forgotten Children Inc. and South Los Angeles Anti Trafficking Committee to host the 13th annual Anti-Trafficking Awareness and Missing Children Outreach event at the Center of Hope in Inglewood. Attendees will be trained by local experts before a lunch and Q&A session.
MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA:The 39th annual Miami Film Festival will take place in person from March 4-13. The event, organized by Miami Made College, is considered the preeminent film festival showcasing Ibero-American cinema in the U.S.; it typically draws more than 45,000 audience members and more than 400 industry professionals and is the only major festival housed within a university.
