Good evening, As I write this Storm Dudley is buffeting the window and Storm Eunice is blowing its way over to join in. It will be a tumultuous 24 hours one way or another and if you live on the coast, it's highly advisable to stay back as 90mph winds will see waves battering the sea walls and beaches. Of course we are used to inclement weather in the UK but that doesn’t seem to stop us being somehow unable to cope in the face of it - even when we give the storms human names. Our newsdesk is bracing itself for the fallen trees, collisions and flood reports that will inevitably come in - here’s hoping it's nothing serious. Storm Eunice comes with the threat of snow - something we have seen little of in recent times but this looks unlikely to settle apart from on higher ground. One thing I can confirm is that it is blooming cold and if nothing else, this is where those face masks come into their own to keep your extremities warm. And in the meantime, time to tie down those wheelie bins and trampolines. Stay warm! Nicola [email protected] | |
