A marvellous month for art lovers and culture vultures

Across London, museums, galleries, and pop-up exhibition spaces are getting ready to welcome you back. That means, pretty soon, you're going to be spoilt for choice when it comes to getting your regular dose of culture.

Not sure where to start? From new films by the great John Akomfrah, to Lucy Sparrow's pharmacy made entirely out of felt, our art critic has rounded up fourteen must-see exhibitions that you can either visit right now, or once larger venues begin to reopen on 17 May.

Other arty highlights include the return of Evgenia Arbugaeva's haunting Hyperborea, a photography exhibition that captures life in the Russian Arctic; a neon trip through film history by God's Own Junkyard; and a multi-sensory Van Gogh experience. Looking for something the kids will appreciate? The Brunel Museum, with its lush gardens and cavernous 50 ft tunnel shaft that the whole family can explore, will do nicely.
