By KELLY P. KISSEL | Metro editor Louisiana's 20-cent-per-gallon gasoline tax isn't doing enough to fund the state's road needs, according to an audit. Our gasoline tax has not been changed in 32 years, and it's not tied to inflation, as similar taxes are in 22 other states. The state has had to divert $310 million from other sources over the past six years to cover a transportation program approved three decades ago. The tropics are heating up. Through the day yesterday, forecasters were tracking four systems in the Atlantic, including two named storms — Danielle and Earl. So far none are a threat to Louisiana, though it'd be wise to keep an eye out. Tiger Stadium will host two Baton Rouge-based teams this weekend, but can accommodate only about 103,000 people.
