Eastern Area Agency on Aging will host its Harvest for Help fundraising breakfast on Sept. 12 (from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.) to support Agency programming.
This year our biggest fundraising challenge has been our Meals on Wheels program, which faces a $100,000 funding gap, and has led to a wait-list for the first time since the pandemic. That means that over 189 Mainers, and counting, are not getting the nutrition they so desperately need!
Tickets are on sale NOW for what is expected to be a fun and informative morning at Jeff's Catering in Brewer.
This breakfast will feature a moderated panel discussion centered on nutrition. The panel will discuss how food is more than just a meal and impacts our entire wellness picture.
Matt Dexter, Executive Director of the Christine B. Foundation; Shannon Coffin, Vice President of Community Partnerships at Good Shepherd Food Bank; Mary Ellen Camire, Professor of Food Science and Human Nutrition at the University of Maine, and a representative from the Maine Department of Agriculture Conservation and Forestry will join us.
We will also show a feature video on our Meals on Wheels program, celebrate our Helper of the Year honoree, Versant Power, and give away some great door prizes.
