The Forward has explored unique Jewish celebrations of Valentine’s Day as far back as a heart-shaped (Yiddish!) ad in 1928. We’ve honored Jewish love stories that survived the Holocaust, run personal ads for decades, helped Jewish moms match up their kids and even looked at how the pandemic changed romance. Connecting the Jewish and American experiences has been part of our work for more than a century.
