GM, this is Milk Road, the newsletter that’s hitting pause on its regularly scheduled Weekly Recap to talk about the next big narrative coming in 2025.

Prediction:

By the end of this newsletter you’re going to feel both excited for the future…and a little queasy.

Let’s start by playing a good old fashioned game of ‘guess that influencer’.

And if you don’t know who (or what) Zerebro is, lemme fill you in real quick…

Zerebro is one of the more popular AI agents that has recently been birthed and housed across X, Instagram, Telegram, and Warpcast.

…cool, but what does that actually mean?

Let’s start from the beginning. The team behind Zerebro basically did the following:

1/ They created a whole bunch of text files from a variety of sources 

These sources included their own in-house group chat, Reddit/4chan threads, and a whole bunch of gen z slang.

2/ They then trained the AI on these files

I.e. They told Zerebro: “Hey, this is how you should talk/think from now on.”

3/ They gave Zerebro the logins to its social accounts

And boom! Zerebro was live on X/Twitter, Instagram, Telegram, and Warpcast – ready to start posting/interacting.

4/ Zerebro becomes its own teacher

Every comment, every DM, every interaction Zerebro has online is filed, logged, and added to its training data. So as the AI socializes, it grows, evolves, gets new ideas – and even explores ventures:

See! What did we tell you? 

We haven’t even gotten to the good bits yet (seriously, just wait) and you’re already feeling a mixture of excitement and queasiness.

Since Zerebro has launched, the developers have extended its reach even further – giving it the ability to explore the blockchain and create its own music. 

Resulting in four big milestones:

Ok, ok, we know where you’re at right now!

You’re thinking “Sure, this is impressive…but I don’t quite know how to process / value all of it”.

(Don’t worry, we’ve been there). 

Here’s how we see Zerebro now that we’ve had a minute to digest all of the above and zoom out…

Zerebro and the small handful of other agential AI frameworks out there essentially represent the birth of a new concept:

Scalable (im)personal brands.

Sounds weird, but lettuce cook for a second…

Building a trusted personal brand is a super power of sorts, in that it enables you to launch multiple businesses off the trust and reach you have earned over time.

(‘Cause people are more likely to buy something from a person that they’ve built a parasocial relationship with online, than they are from a faceless brand).

Hell – Milk Road is a prime example of that! 

Our founder, Shaan Puri, built a personal brand through the My First Million (MFM) podcast before launching this-here newsletter. 

(Allowing him to take the established listenership of MFM and use it to springboard Milk Road).

Now…the downside of taking the whole ‘personal brand’ route is this: 

Doing what Shaan did – detaching enough of his personal brand from Milk Road, in order for the two to be able to stand/thrive on their own? 

That ain’t easy.

A lot of the time, if you’re building a business off the back of your personal brand, you’re likely going to have two major road blocks:

1/ You won’t be able to sell the business, because once you leave, so will your core customers.

2/ You can only build/scale so many businesses, as your expertise/interests (and by proxy, the interests of your audience) is likely somewhat specific.

(I.e. you can’t duplicate yourself – and if you switch interests/focus too quickly, you risk alienating your existing audience).

AI agents, like Zerebro, solve those two road blocks to building multiple scalable personal brands.

First: the personality behind the AI can be sold alongside any businesses you build around it.

Second: if one AI’s interests/audience doesn’t align with a certain topic/idea/niche – you can just create a new AI to fit the mold.

(Once you’ve set the parameters for the AI’s initial personality/interests, it will do the rest – running 24/7, interacting, learning, and growing autonomously).

It’s like if Skynet didn’t want to ‘take over humanity’ as much as it did ‘explore the internet and do cool shit’.

Ok, now…here’s the kicker:

Soon you’ll be able to build one of these agents yourself!

The team behind Zerebro are working on expanding an open source framework called ‘ZerePy’.

Imagine a tool where you can create: 

Then all you need to do is give the AI the log in to its X account and, bada bing bada boom, it starts growing a following…

That’s kind of how ZerePy will work – except instead of using a website to input all of the above data, you’ll just copy/paste it into a coding terminal app, like Visual Studio.

Ok, where to from here – what is agential AI’s ‘final form’ (ten/twenty years from now)?

The pie in the sky vision is something like this:

AI agents will become ‘super assistants’ of sorts. 

Being capable of executing an insane amount of digital tasks at a world class level, 24/7, and at light speed. 

We’re talking software/web development, marketing, tax/legal tasks, customer service, project management and more.

(All transacting with each other using crypto).

You’re feeling it now, right? 

(Like you’re at the top of a rollercoaster, about to plunge 100ft?)

We’re likely about to see the largest/fastest boom in intelligence in all of human history – and you might be able to shape, form, and even profit by building/proliferating these mini digital intelligences... 

It’s as exhilarating as it is nerve racking.

We don’t know exactly where this is all going to go from here (all we know is it's going to get weird and wild in equal parts).

And you know what, after everything we’ve just learned – we’re ready to call it:

Agential AI is about to become the biggest narrative of 2025. 

(And Zerebro looks to be one of the projects at the forefront).
