Throwback Thursday with AAS! When Indonesia participated in AAS for the first time in 2017, Hellomotion’s Cican was widely regarded as the strongest project in a very impressive debut showcase from the region. The 39 x seven-minute TV concept sparked a lot of interest at AAS, and Hellomotion is currently in negotiations with a co-production partner that was in the audience at the event to get this 2D-animated series off the ground. Cican’s popular publishing franchise has currently rolled out 50 titles of bedtime stories in Indonesia, and merchandise sales for the IP have increased by 50% so far this year. Hellomotion also recently collaborated with Indonesia’s Ministry of Education to create a Cican music clip focused on cultural heritage. Want to be among the first to discover this year’s best new animation concepts developing in Asia-Pacific? Registration for AAS 2020 is now open, and a $200 Early-Bird discount is in effect until Friday, August 28. In light of the continued uncertainty around the coronavirus pandemic, Kidscreen has adjusted its cancellation policy for AAS so that if it’s not possible to produce a live event because of COVID-19, all registration fees will be fully refunded. |
