Energy Realism looked at how climate activists are scare-mongering us into needless action on a needless problem.

Daniel Turner got us started last week: no longer focused on reliable and affordable energy, FERC is becoming far too activist for our own good. Much of the blame rests with former FERC Commissioner Richard Glick. He was political to his core, even though he chaired an independent agency that is supposed to be technical, objective, and even-handed. Portia Roberts then points out the obvious problems here: the ‘clean energy’ agenda will simply push us into the precarious and dangerous hands of Africa, the Middle East, and China. And Colin Reed wants you to know the truth. From blocking commutes by lying in traffic to vandalizing priceless pieces of art, it seems there’s no conduct too low for the extreme eco left. The latest gambit came from a group called “Climate Defiance,” who accused the head of Chevron of “killing people” during a disgraceful outburst in New York.

Indeed, as described by Justin Bis, the climate obsession, of course, makes little sense at every turn. For example, the SEC should know that climate risks are NOT a material risk for investors. This all fits into our Essential Reading this week from Richard Lindzen. Like other fields, when it comes to climate science, governments have a monopoly on the support of scientific research. Climate catastrophism is joining the list of Lysenkoism, where real science has become irrelevant in the name of government wanting to show a particular scientific outcome.
