We have missed seeing you in the galleries this summer but want to remind you that, while physically closed, the virtual doors of the Harvard Art Museums are open 24/7. Since launching Harvard Art Museums from Home, we’ve welcomed over 5,000 visitors to our online programs. As the fall approaches, we are excited to continue the communal sharing of stories and perspectives through live discussions and interactive programs—all free and open to everyone. Let’s continue to build a hopeful community together online. From all of us at the museums, stay strong, stay well, and stay tuned. This week on Harvard Art Museums from Home: Our team gives their take on some helpful art resources for kids. Check out works from the collections that remind us to take a stance, build community, and make a difference. Mark your calendar for a free Art Talk Live on Thursday, August 27, when you can discover stories about an 18th-century French print. “She makes both art and archaeology come alive” was how one person described a recent live Art Talk given by Frances Gallart Marqués. Watch a recording of Marqués’s talk on a selection of Etruscan bronze mirrors. Curator of photography Makeda Best was featured in a recent ARTery article asking five Boston-area curators which artwork they missed the most while museums have been closed. |
