Regina Carter, Donny McCaslin, John Daversa Small Band, and more!!
Tuesday 3.3 Donny McCaslin Trio
6:30 & 9:00 PM
Throughout his extensive career, protean tenor saxophonist Donny McCaslin has integrated his powerful tone and virtuosic technique with the full palette of sounds and moods his instrument can produce: from contemporary post-bop and the electronic fusion of David Bowieâs Blackstar to the uncharted territory and wide-ranging emotions found on his latest release Blow.
Two virtuosos in their own right, Regina Carter and Xavier Davis have undertaken numerous collaborations stretching back to 2004, and as a result now share an electric and near-telepathic connection on stage. Hailed as the foremost jazz violinist of her generation, Carter is a MacArthur fellow and recent recipient of the prestigious Doris Duke Artist Award whose quest for beauty and passion for excellence finds a complementary musical voice in Davisâ accomplished artistry, yielding an intimate and unforgettable concert experience.
