Founded in 2009 by cellist and conductor Stephen Framil and Wilmington artist Christine Farley, the 14th Annual Port City Music Festival 2022 is a summer concert series committed to the highest quality of performance, and making the experience of great music accessible to all. Artists Luigi Mazzocchi, Violinist, Sarah Sutton, Violist, Stephen Framil, Cellist, Kyle Engler, Mezzo-Soprano, and Daniel Lau, Pianist will perform in the Weyerhaeuser Reception Hall.

Join us as curator Daniel Ackermann from the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts explores the work in Design Through Time: A Continuing Dialogue. This is sure to be a fascinating illustrated lecture combining history and interior design.

Ackermann is Chief Curator and Director of Collections, Research, and Archaeology at Old Salem Museums & Gardens and the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts (MESDA).

Speak Ya Peace: Juneteenth Celebration

Free community day: event and galleries free and open to the public

The Juneteenth Committee of Wilmington will host an afternoon of celebration with spoken word, music, a fashion show, and dance! We welcome the words of poets Mama Makeda, ScaleHamHawk da Poet, and Yolanda Hernandez. Hear music from Soltree Reign and take part in community conversations from local organizations. Sample local flavors from food trucks, and come dressed in African inspired attire. Juneteenth recognizes African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement. It's a time for communities to come together for reflection and rejoicing.

Walkabout Wilmington

Beginning Thursday!!

Spring and early summer in Wilmington is a wonderful time to get out and enjoy this wonderful City. We will spend five Tuesday mornings, 10 am till noon, exploring great outdoor sights around town. For the last session, we will meet for a group critique to show and discuss our images.

Sgraffito Renaissance

Instructor: Renato Abbate

Learn the art of sgraffito , a decorative technique developed during the renaissance. Layering different color slips or underglazes and carving through them to expose the clay body. Students will be provided greenware mugs and tiles to carve. This is a great introduction to working with clay as a medium for surface design.

Structural Vase or Tea Pot

Instructor: Shannon Gehen

Construct an angular vase or teapot from a template. This construction method allows the novice to complete a well-designed piece using basic components that you can modify to find your personal flare!
