FISH PRINTS

Instructor: Judith Chandler

Fish Printing or Gyo Taku is an ancient Japanese form of recording a fisherman's catch. In the early 1800s a wealthy fisherman hired an artist to make prints of his fish. The beauty and uniqueness of the prints attracted a lot of attention, and it became an accepted art form. Fish Printing is fun for older children and adults, and can be done in traditional black and white or with color.
