Bill Koch, now 85, has decided it's time to let go of a treasured part of his property portfolio, putting his waterfront compound on Cape Cod up for grabs. The 7.5-acre spread previously belonged to banking heir Paul Mellon and his wife, Rachel “Bunny” Mellon, the influential horticulturist who designed the White House Rose Garden. Meanwhile, Eric Schmidt, Google’s CEO from 2001 to 2011 and later the executive chairman of both Google and its parent company, Alphabet, continues to add to his half-billion-dollar-plus collection of homes around the world, most recently snapping up a San Francisco penthouse. Both property businessmen might appreciate the 7,000-acre Sheep Creek Canyon Ranch just outside of Salt Lake City, Utah, which includes a rustic backcountry camp with a wood-fired hot tub. |
