I am asking you to join me in a global fight to protect children.

Dear John,

I am asking you to join me in a global fight to protect children. No matter where you live, it is very important that we all understand what’s at stake right now.

On Dec. 21, 2020, a law in the European Union called the e-Privacy Directive will stop the use of technology that helps identify child sexual exploitation online. This technology is critical to protect and rescue these children, but that work will end without an “interim regulation” that is currently being considered by the European Parliament. This exception to the law will allow tech companies to continue using these critical tools until 2025 when a more permanent solution can be reached, preventing a global catastrophe.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children has received more than 82 million reports of child sexual exploitation over the last two decades, many containing imagery of horrific sexual abuse of children, some so young they can’t ask for help. We must be their voice.

The vote will happen on Dec. 7, so I urge you to act now! Please add your name to the petition at change.org/childsafetyfirst and join others to ask the European Parliament to put child safety first.

It’s important to share this critical message with your colleagues, friends and family so they can take action too. The final vote is scheduled for December 7, 2020 and children across the globe are counting on us. You can learn more about the issue here.

Thank you for your commitment to protecting our children.

Sincerley,
John F. Clark
