![]() Remember the "put an egg on it" fad that invaded our lives about five years ago? I have a slight twist that I call "put it on a sweet potato."
When I don't have time or energy to invoke the spirit of Julia Child, I microwave a sweet potato, pile my leftovers on it and ... well, eat it. Whether I've got leftover chili, roasted veggies or mac and cheese, I spoon it over that soft, steamy sweet potato and dinner is done. (Dubious of a food editor who microwaves her sweet potatoes? Read this and you'll learn why I do it.)
I've shared some sweet potato ideas below, plus we've also got a series of stories about COVID-19 and restaurants that you'll want to catch up on. There's also a fascinating read about something called The Seitan Appreciation Society that will make you re-think the way you use Facebook!
XO,
Restaurants and COVID-19 As eateries open up and more people get vaccinated, there are constant changes to the way we dine out. We took a look into the past, present and future of the restaurant industry with this series.
Seitan worship Seitan ― pronounced “say-TAN,” not “satan” ― is a meat substitute that recently went viral when Gen Z flipped out over a "two-ingredient vegan chicken" recipe on TikTok. But they weren't the first to discover seitan, as the members of The Seitan Appreciation Society can attest. Reporter Julia Tausch, who also happens to be a member of the SAS, introduces us to this amazing Facebook group (and kind of makes us want to join it).
