Finally, finally, finally a second round of stimulus checks has been approved in Congress — and they’re totally disappointing. A provision of the CARES Act ― the coronavirus stimulus package passed in March ― makes it possible to write off up to $300 in certain charitable contributions, even if you’re among the roughly 90% of people who don’t itemize your taxes. It’s been the year of a thousand packages, and that’s not changing anytime soon.
