Spring Newsletter Dear We have been busy this month with the arrival of new fabrics including some beautiful batiks. The latest Makower range is stunning and very popular with the dressmakers. My favourite range at present is probably Bird Song by Dashwood Studio; I have already been inspired by the collection and have made a reversible skirt on the workshop with Katie Haywood. Yet to be worn ! Some unusual spot fabric by SevenBerry seems to have found its way in thru the door.....
Lesley is organising not only the paperwork but me too as she likes everything neat and tidy!! She is not a hoarder and cannot understand my treasure trove of precious trash! We are going to attack the office next, ruthlessly …… (help) Talking of organisation and paperwork when booking workshops a £10 deposit is required with the balance due six weeks prior to the date of the workshop. The Deposit is non refundable.
News Time to beat those winter blues by thinking ahead of projects for the warmer weather, a new Wash Bag is always a must and make fantastic gifts too. We happen to have in stock Lamifix, an iron on product that showerproofs fabric making it ideal for making Lunch Bags, Baby Bibs or Placemats or any other projects that you can dream up. A similar new product is OdiCoat, which also provides protection for projects, fabric accessories or objects (cotton, jeans, lace), Odicoat is painted on. Once dry it creates an insulating film that resists against stains and humidity. I am pleased to report the rewarding news that we have now twinned four toilets. Thank you so much for your continued donations to this worthy fundraising cause. Please note that Thimblestitch will be closed for stocktaking on Wednesday 7th March – sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Also when parking for workshops could you please try to park prettily to maximise space.
Workshop gallery Having Lesley here to help has also meant that I have been able to sit at a sewing machine on two workshops. I mentioned earlier that I made the reversible skirt, well I also joined the two day Gadget Bag workshop with Stella. I am so pleased with it I only had to hand catch the binding and sew the button on at home.
