The COVID-19 vaccine is currently being delivered and administered to people in the U.S. as I type this, which is a major, positive step in the pandemic. My brain almost doesn't know how to process this type of good news anymore!
It'll take some time before most of us will get the shots, but we can still learn about the process before then. For example, reporter Jillian Wilson broke down all the main side effects that have been reported. Take a look at what you might (key word being might) expect to experience for a short period of time after you get the vaccine. Spoiler alert: The benefits certainly outweigh the downsides, according to experts.
Keep scrolling for some more COVID-19 info, including what we know about how the virus affects the brain. We've also got some useful holiday advice for those who are feeling lonely this year.

Got a spare minute? Use it to change your life. Our "A Minute And Change" series will help you become happier, healthier and more productive by doing one thing a little differently. This week's tip comes from Kendall Toole, a mental health advocate and Peloton instructor, on what she tells herself when she has a bad day. She told me:
It goes back to the mantra that my father instilled in me at a young age (which is something I live by to this day). He said, "you can knock me down, but you'll never knock me out." That phrase in particular has been my fight anthem and has picked me up from my darkest mental health days. A bad mental health day is just like a storm cloud, which will always pass after creating something powerful, like lightning. Those bad days are the foundation of my strength today, so whenever they occur now, I'm reminded of how much I have grown throughout my mental health journey. |
