Well, check it out… CoinGecko just dropped a report on what the best-performing narratives of the year have been so far. (As of March 31) |

1st place: Memecoins. And it wasn’t even close... |
On average, the top 10 memecoins saw +1,312% gains in Q1. The craziest part? 3 of the top 10 best performing memecoins are less than a month old. $BRETT, $BOME, and $MEW all launched in March. Memecoins were 4.6x more profitable than the next best-performing crypto narrative…

2nd place: Real World Asset (RWA) tokens. |
On average, the top 10 RWA tokens saw +286% gains in Q1. Only 1 of those tokens had negative returns. $XDC saw a 15.6% decline. RWA’s were briefly the most profitable narrative in early February but were overtaken by the memecoin mania in March.

3rd place: A.I. tokens. |
On average, the top 10 A.I. tokens saw +222% gains in Q1. The top tokens were all in the green. Even the lowest gainer, ($TRAC), returned +74.9%.

Last month… |
Crypto projects raised $1.16B. That’s a 52.5% increase from February and the largest monthly total since November 2023. There were 180 publicly announced investments. The highest monthly total since April 2022. “Infrastructure projects” saw the most funding ($283M). DeFi, CeFi, Gaming, and NFT projects rounded out the rest of the Top 5 most funded sectors. More than half of the investments in March were between $1M - $5M. Another 10% of deals saw $20M+ in investments.

Yesterday, Bloomberg reported that Paradigm is in talks to raise a $750M+ fund. If successful, it would be the biggest crypto fundraiser since 2022. |

BNB Chain is kicking off a “Meme Innovation Battle”. Up to $1M in rewards is being offered up to developers who create memecoins, on the BNB Chain, that reach certain trading milestones. |
Monthly trading volume on crypto exchanges doubled in March. It almost reached $2.5T for the first time since November 2021. Close, but no cigar. |
Wormhole opened up airdrop claims today. About 400,000 wallets will be eligible to claim a total of 678M ‘W’ tokens. |
Spot BTC ETF monthly trading volume tripled in March. March’s volume hit $111B vs. February’s total of $42B. |
Ethena Labs launched its new governance token, $ENA. The company also airdropped 5% of the total $ENA supply to all USDe and sUSDe holders. |
