If his Kansas City Chiefs win today, it would be the first time in history a team has won three Super Bowl championships in a row.
Here are three quotes Brandon Judd reported that demonstrate what makes the future Hall of Fame coach special:
"It’s how he relates to the players and his coaching staff," Chiefs owner Clark Hunt said. "He builds a personal relationship with them, the players know that he cares about them as individuals. And as a result, they’re willing to go out there and put it all on the line. At the same time, he’ll hold them accountable."
“Who he is as a coach is a very good reflection of who he is as a person," Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce said. "He cares about everybody’s livelihood, just as much as he cares about a football game. It just makes it fun for everybody who plays for him.”
“Any chance he gets up in front of us — team meetings or on the field and he’s coaching us up — you can kinda see the way he approaches things,” former Chiefs safety Daniel Sorensen said. “He likes to break things down, he likes to teach, he likes to take those opportunities to teach. He does it in a personal way.”
Utah lawmakers race against the clock to help franchisees facing Sunday mandate deadline
Should franchise businesses be required to be open on Sundays? A new bill seeks to address that question.
The Nothing Bundt Cakes franchise used to allow individual franchisees to opt out of being open on Sundays for religious reasons, but in 2024, under new ownership, that expectation changed. Last week, owners were notified they had 30 days to comply and open for at least a few hours on Sundays or risk losing their bakeries.
“We gave everything, financially and physically, emotionally and every other way, to this brand, to purchasing this bakery,” Kelly Clayton, the owner of Nothing Bundt Cakes locations in St. George and Spanish Fork, said. “We never would have signed on the dotted line to purchase the franchise if we had to be open on Sundays.”
What would the Bundt Cakes bill do?
HB441, Franchisee Protection Act, would prohibit a franchisor, like Nothing Bundt Cakes, from requiring a franchisee to open on a day of worship if it conflicts with a sincerely held religious belief, unless the original franchise agreement clearly includes the requirement, Brigham Tomco reported.
True crime content can be used as a tool for survivors to share their stories — or it can retraumatize victims all over again.
In the last year, two pieces of true crime content have emerged from the Ruby Franke and Jodi Hildebrandt arrest, Meg Walter writes. One a Lifetime movie that sensationalizes the lived experience of Franke’s victims, and the other a memoir from Franke’s oldest daughter. The two content options represent the choice consumers must make when engaging with true crime — whether they want to spend time and money on content that retraumatizes victims, or content that supports them.
"It is hard for my (relative) to relive the worst time of their lives every time someone decides to drag it back up," one relative of a victim said.
As Utah’s own current true crime stories continue to gain media attention, and as other tragic stories inevitably develop, we would do well to remember that our support belongs to the victims of those tragedies, not the profiteers, Walter writes.
