Greetings!

If you're wondering why you did not receive a Daily Travel Tip newsletter this week, it's because I've been so sick. In fact, it's the sickest I think I've ever been in my life. I've had a fever every day (except for today) since Monday morning. Since some nasty bug is going around and I just got off of a cruise ship, I decided to write about my experience with what doctors think is the flu in detail. Here's the story.

I picked the wrong week to fall ill because there's been a ton of travel news. I'm sorry I wasn't there to report on it and provide tips but I could barely get out of bed. Today is the first day I'm working on my laptop and I'm about to take the rest of the day off now to rest, play with my kids and watch some football.

For those who are traveling over the next few days, there's a lot of severe weather out there. Today alone has over 1,000 flights canceled, which is huge. According to United Airlines, here are the problem regions and airports:
