Dear Supporter,

With World Water Day, International Day of Forests and Earth Hour, March truly is a time to celebrate the planet.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

International Day of Forests took place yesterday on 21 March, and it celebrates and raises awareness of the importance of forests. Forests are an essential part of building a sustainable future - they are home to a huge diversity of life, and provide a wealth of resources for people and wildlife.

Forests also help us fight climate change through photosynthesis - after the oceans, forests are the world's largest carbon storehouses. They provide us with oxygen to breathe and are vital for our physical and mental well-being.

HAPPENING TODAY

And today – 22nd March – marks World Water Day! This year, we want to explore nature-based solutions for the water challenges we face in the 21st century. That's why it's important to conserve our wetlands, which can play a huge part in building a sustainable urban future, and fight against climate change.

Wetlands help filter domestic waste from water, which improves water quality. And they act as buffers against natural disasters such as floods or rain. Wetlands are important for us all, and given that 4 billion people live in urban areas today, saving urban wetlands is all the more essential.
With Earth Hour coming up in 2 days, there's no better time to show your appreciation for our planet and its incredible diversity of life on Earth.

From forests that provide us with the air we breathe, to precious freshwater systems that give us the water we drink, we wouldn't be able to survive without nature! Join the conversation today and tell us, what do you do to help protect nature? It's time to #Connect2Earth!
