THIS WEEK'S EDITION: August 30, 2019

Shabbat shalom from the Forward!
A three day weekend may have you fantasizing about retirement, but Jewish baby boomers are rethinking what it means to hang it all up to enjoy the "golden years."  In the wake of this week's violent anti-Semitic attack in New York, Life Editor Avital Chizhik-Goldschmidt shares her thoughts on why people ignore the Orthodox community (her piece has been shared all over social media, including CNN's Jake Tapper).  Speaking of Labor Day,  Executive Director of the New England Jewish Labor Committee Ari Fertig, is asking us to recommit to workers' rights.  And, if you're looking for a way to toast the holiday weekend, we have a recipe for Leonard Cohen's favorite cocktail.  All of this and more in this week's edition. Enjoy the long weekend.  L'Chaim!
