Singer Gary Numan says he's 'devastated' by fatal crash involving his tour bus: A 91-year-old man died Monday after being hit by a tour bus for singer Gary Numan on Superior Avenue at East 9th Street, police say. Numan says in a statement he's "devastated" after incident. The fatal crash prompted the cancellation of Numan's concert scheduled Monday night at the House of Blues. The crash made it "impossible to even consider playing the show," Numan says in a statement posted on his official Facebook page. Read more. Cleveland backs out of deal to move police headquarters to former Plain Dealer building: The city of Cleveland says it is backing out of plans to move its police headquarters to 1801 Superior Ave., the former home of The Plain Dealer. The city says in a letter to developer Fred Geis that it no longer wishes to work with Geis' company, GLP Superior LTD, to purchase the building. Cleveland City Council President Kevin Kelley says his understanding is problems cropped up related to the status of tenants in the 1801 building. Read more. With eye at curbing gun violence, Kasich signs executive order: Gov. John Kasich signed an executive order requiring Ohio law enforcement to upload certain protection orders and warrants into a database that could prevent people from illegally buying firearms. The executive order, which goes into effect immediately, includes sanctions to law enforcement agencies that don't comply, including financial penalties and loss of access to the database. Kasich believes people will support the executive order and other efforts he's making to ensure warrants and protection orders are reported. Read more. RTA driver fired after agency finds pedestrian crash was ‘preventable’: The Greater Cleveland RTA has fired a bus driver involved in a crash that seriously injured a pedestrian last month at Cleveland's Public Square. Rose McDonald, 60, was fired because an internal investigation found the crash "preventable," the RTA said in a statement. She has not been charged in the crash, Cleveland Municipal Court records show. Cleveland police have not said if she could face criminal or traffic charges. Read more.
