Carly Williams and Fran Kelly on the Voice |
|
This week, the prime minister announced that Australians will vote in the Voice referendum on October 14. There's been much discussion in the lead up to this announcement, so we are excited that Quandamooka woman Carly Williams and Fran Kelly's new podcast The Voice Referendum Explained has launched, where they will cut through all the chatter, and clearly explain what the referendum is all about, where the ideas come from and what the Voice could do for Indigenous Australians. We're also thrilled that Dr Ann Jones is back with a new season of What the Duck!, the ABC Science podcast where she explores the most unusual, curious and frankly bizarre elements of our natural world. The new season kicks off with Silence of the vultures, a brand new episode in which an ornithologist, a veterinarian and a religious devotee must catch a serial killer before every last vulture in India is dead. Finally, it's now more than 18 months since Vladimir Putin launched a full-scale invasion of the country. Many Russians, like Katya and Sascha, do not support the war or Putin. These two women shared their experiences with ABC RN, and also described their increasingly risky efforts to help the Ukranians. Worth a read or a listen!
