I compiled a list of six new shows streaming on various platforms that will set the mood for the perfect Galentine’s Day party.

The Bachelor is back with season 29 and Grant Ellis is the man all the ladies are going after. Ellis was part of Jen Tran’s journey on The Bachelorette season 21, but ultimately she said goodbye to him. Now, he’s making a comeback as the titular Bachelor this season!

Trump asserted that because North Carolina voted for him, there would be no conditions on federal aid for the state. California, who voted for Biden, would have to pass a voter identification law for federal aid. He was also critical of the Golden State’s fire preparation.

It’s the tail-end of January. Nobody is expecting any blockbusters right now, so it’s a solid time to release the miserably problematic Mel Gibson‘s newest offering, Flight Risk. It’s a film that feels made for Saturday afternoon TBS runs, the kind you put on because the blurb sounds reasonably interesting and you have nothing else to watch.

Flight Risk is the type of modest thriller that gives you no expectations. It’s a tight 91 minutes. The one thing I will give it, though, is that at no point during the film did I wish it would end sooner. If anything, this film could have benefited from an extra 10-15 minutes to tie everything more neatly together.

Another day, another man fails to see how his sexually inappropriate behavior is wrong. This time around the man is John Barrowman, who up until a few years ago was one of Doctor Who’s most beloved stars. He played Captain Jack Harkness, one of the first pansexual characters on British TV, and was one-half of the show’s very first same-sex kiss. Fans adored him for his charm and charisma. That’s no longer the case.

Barrowman’s downfall was the result of another sexual misconduct allegation. In 2021, Noel Clarke, who played Mickey Smith on the show, was accused of sexual harassment by multiple women. Any chance of his ever returning to Doctor Who went up in smoke, as did his career. During this media storm, journalists uncovered some old footage of Clarke at a 2015 convention discussing Barrowman’s dubious behavior. He spoke about how Barrowman was allegedly constantly “taking his d*** out” on set and once even rested it on co-star Camille Coduri’s shoulder when they were in a makeup truck (she confirmed that she remembered this incident in the video but offered no further context). Seemingly, this had been tolerated for a while—but it wasn’t about to be tolerated any longer.

He wrote and sang several songs for Inland Empire and penned lyrics for Angelo Badalamenti’s songs for Twin Peaks.
