Our top 10 stories from the week

Our most-read story this week? Aldi opening its new regional HQ. Tell us what you think...

It's Tuesday. Time once again for a poll. Giant Eagle, Inc. just recently announced it will no longer send out its weekly paper ads mailer, starting in its home market of Pittsburgh, but ultimately phasing out all paper mailers in 2023. The Pittsburgh mailers will now be digital-only (though shoppers will still be able to get a paper copy of the weekly deals in store.)

Is this the right direction to head in? Or is there still a large percentage of shoppers who want / expect their weekly grocery deals by mail?

Is Giant Eagle making the right move by getting rid of its weekly print mailers?

  • Yes, clearly: Digital is king

  • No, people still want mailers

  • Other, tell us in the comments
