| Good morning, and welcome to the Saints Insider newsletter for Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023. Sean Payton has been gone from New Orleans for almost a year but he's still a topic of conversation among Saints fans. His recruitment is national news and has dominated NFL headlines for much of the week. There's great interest in Payton's coaching services, as you would expect someone of his caliber, but sources familiar with the situation say the Saints shouldn't count on a windfall of draft pocks in compensation for him. In my column, I reveal everything I know about the situation. Two more teams have requested permission from the Saints to speak to Payton, joining the Denver Broncos, who expressed interest earlier this week. And finally, Saints receiver Chris Olave enjoyed a strong rookie season in New Orleans, but the former Ohio State standout said he's not satisfied and wants to get stronger for next season.
