The wrap up of our Round 13 clash vs Western Force @ HBF Park.
The ACT Brumbies have defeated the Western Force 33-14 in their crucial all-Australian derby at HBF Park. First half tries to Len Ikitau & Corey Toole saw the Brumbies go into the break with a 7 point lead, with second half tries to Tom Hooper, Ollie Sapsford and Liam Bowron securing a crucial bonus point victory. The game was in the balance at 21-14 with 10 minutes remaining after Mac Grealy's try drew the Force within single digits before 50-game milestone man Ollie Sapsford and Bowron struck late to break the hosts' hearts. The win sees Stephen Larkham's side move into second on the Super Rugby ladder. The win was soured by a potential spinal injury to Noah Lolesio, who was stretchered off the field midway through the first half. ACT BRUMBIES 33 (Ikitau, Toole, Hooper, Sapsford, Bowron tries; Meredith 4 cons) def WESTERN FORCE 14 (Koteka, Grealy tries; Donaldson 2 cons). |
