What differentiates a commonwealth from a state? Apparently, there's no diff when referring to those in the US. How many states call themselves a commonwealth?
Welcome to Friday Faves! Every Friday, I spotlight books, podcasts, email newsletters, documentaries or other content pieces that I enjoy. I also share suggestions that I get from you. Got a favorite for your peers? Send it to me. I may include it here for a future column. I covered an education conference last week. The closing keynote speaker was Joe Sanfelippo, former educator and superintendent of Fall Creek School District in Fall Creek, Wis. Sanfelippo wrote a book 1 Minute Walk to Work. The book is a set of reflections and lessons that Sanfelippo gleaned during his daily 92-step walk from his home to his school office. Those walks changed how Sanfelippo worked with and viewed his students, educators and community. It made him a better leader. I flipped through the book during a break in the workshops. I discovered his insights were relevant to my world too and bought the book. I’m enjoying my time in it, highlighting tips and ideas that can help me in my role and better serve my team. If you like smart, fast reads, pick this one up. And let me know what you are reading and listening too. Have a great weekend! Do you love this brief? Share it with others. Want different stories? Something about it bug you? Tell me. In the words of Frasier Crane, “I’m listening.”
