Clay Schnexayder to run for Secretary of State; Richard Ieyoub dies

Teacher pay: More than a third of Louisiana's public school teachers must work a side job to stay afloat financially, according to a Louisiana Federation of Teachers survey. The survey comes as lawmakers are set to consider Gov. John Bel Edwards' plan to raise teacher pay by up to $3,000. Education reporter Marie Fazio has the story. 


Ieyoub dies: Former state attorney general Richard Ieyoub died Monday at age 78; he is remembered by his colleagues, including Edwards, as genuine and kindhearted. A Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 1 p.m.; a wake will proceed the Mass. See more details in Tyler Bridges' writeup.
